The Coach Story

(cute gal!)

It all began when TMN was on her way back to her place after spent one and half days with her friends in Meridien. The coach was full with passengers, all from different and unique backgrounds. Among all of them, there was a lady, casually dressed in style, who sat not far from TMN. She was reading a novel, with her sunnies on and after awhile, she dozed off.

The journey back home took about 3 hours and the coach usually stops at this junction where people could get off and eased themselves for a while. TMN refused to miss this opportunity. She got off and bought herself junk foods enuff to feed herself. When she went back to her seat, suddenly the lady with her sunnies on asked one of the passenger where the washroom was. This passenger gave her a brief and simple direction and this lady asked again whether the washroom was clean or not. What do you expect if you are at this junction which full of all sorts of buses and peoples? At the end she decided not to go to the washroom and tried to break the ice with this passenger instead. The conversation revolved from basic introduction of oneself to the place where them both worked in. Coincidently that lady was sharing the same office roof with the passenger's friend. They both even managed to talk about this friend of theirs. They both knew that their friend is getting married soon and suddenly the lady started to talk on related matter, but more to religious side of view. She asked whether it is necessary to attend "Kursus Perkahwinan". The passenger replied it is and it's kind of "license" for Muslims to get married. Then the lady asked again whether you have to wear baju kurung to attend that course. That question was still acceptable until she shared something with this passenger. She said that she was confused. She was born in mixed culture family and the family loves animal so much that they even owned a dog. The passenger was confused. So does TMN who eaves-dropping their conversation. Then the lady continued her story, telling that they owned this dog for quite some time and now they didn't have any eversince they bertaubat (repent). Huh??????? TMN was a bit uncomfortable with that statement. Luckily that lady was not talking to her. She again reiterated that she was so confused that she even didn't know which culture and belief that she should followed on. The lady even jokingly said that she wanted to create her own culture. Ok, noted. TMN thinks that this lady really in a dilemma that she really needs someone, a stranger to be a good listener of her stroy. In fact, the passenger was a good stranger as well as good listener as the passenger did not even chips in while the lady was talking. The passenger looks calm and only smiled to this lady. The story must have made the passenger thinking on something.

There was another interesting and cute passenger on board who really caught TMN's attention. At the seat right in front of her, there was a Chinese kid, aged 2 or 3 with small eyes and angelic face smiling at her. She looks so bright, intelligent and cheerful. She was non-stop talking in Chinese dialect with her mom and once a while she would looked at TMN and smiled. She was so cute!!!! That kid took a white towel from her mom and wore them as a scarf. Then she smiled and looked at TMN and said "Assalamualaikum" few times. TMN was so surprised!!!!! Her eyes were blinking, smiling and greeted her with her innocent and angelic face. Bless her!!! That kid, even in that age, knows how to greet her with salam.

What a great journey…..
